Students will be turning in their chromebooks and chargers on Wednesday. We are asking all students to have their chromebooks charged when they turn them in. Students should keep their laptop bags over the summer to use again next year. If students have any damaged chromebooks, there is a $50 fee for replacement screens and $25 fee for any missing or damaged chargers. Other damage to chromebooks is based on what part is damaged.

There was a video circulating on social media with a student threatening the school. The State Police were notified and after their investigation it was determined that there is not a credible threat to any students. The student who made the post will not be in school tomorrow. We would like to thank the students and parents who notified the school and police about the situation.
Free athletics physicals for students in grades 6-11 will take place on June 1st and 2nd at the Benton High School from noon until 2pm. All paperwork must be filled out online at www.healthyroster.com. If you take your child to your family physician instead of receiving the free physicals, you must fill out the paperwork online but print and take the CIPPE Section 6 document for your physician to complete. Join us this Wednesday at 7pm in the High School Auditorium for the 5th & 6th Grade "Great Beginnings" Band and Chorus Concert. Band members report at 6:30. Chorus members report at 6:45. Admission is free for everyone.
This morning there was a minor bus accident on the way into school, but all students on the bus were checked by nursing staff when they arrived at the school. No students were injured and were able to return to class.

The homeroom that raised the most money was Mrs. Funck's class. They earned a pizza party for collecting $520.75. The read-a-thon raised a total of $1,735.00 for the Christmas Friends Program.

The theme for this year's May Day is "ELVIS". This year's May Day will start at 12:30 on May 24, 2023 with the opening of a time capsule that was created 25 years ago by the students, staff and retired principal Dennis Scheid and then the May Day program will begin at 1:00.
If you were a staff member or a student 25 years ago feel, free to come to the program and watch former teacher Bill Pasukinis open the time capsule. The contents will then be on display during the rest of May Day and afterwards in the elementary gym from 2:00-3:00. Who knows Elvis may even make an appearance.
Bus 4 is running approximately 45 minutes behind schedule this morning.

The Benton Area School Board approved a change in the school calendar to make the last student day June 5, 2023. Dismissal is at 10:00 on June 5. June 6 & June 7 will now be Act80 days for faculty and staff only. Also, as a reminder, April 10 will be a school day as a snow makeup day.
