Hello Tiger Families,
My name is Daniel Yarnell, and I am both honored and excited to serve as your new elementary principal. As a proud graduate of the Benton Area School District, returning home to lead this wonderful school community is truly special to me. While I am joining you midway through the school year, I am eager to work together to continue the great work already underway and ensure a smooth transition for all of our students and families.
Growing up in Benton, I learned the value of hard work, determination, and the importance of community. These values are central to my approach as a leader, and I am committed to instilling them in your children as they grow academically and personally. It is my goal to help every child develop a love for learning, become resilient, and build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
I bring 23 years of educational experience to my role. I spent 19 years as a Middle School teacher at Central Columbia, where I worked closely with students to foster their academic growth and social development. After that, I served as the Elementary Principal at Northwest Area School District for 2 years, and as a Middle School Principal for 2 years at the Bloomsburg Area School District. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of both elementary and middle school education, and I am excited to bring that knowledge and passion to Benton Area Elementary School.
As we move through the rest of this school year, I look forward to working closely with you to ensure that your child’s educational experience remains positive and enriching. Your involvement and support are vital to their success, and together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact. Creating a team approach allows students, teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents to work together for the betterment of our students.
Thank you for entrusting me with the great honor and privilege of leading your children and for welcoming me back to my hometown. I am confident that, together, we will finish this school year strong and lay the foundation for even greater things to come.
